A Letter from the Founder:

Tia Bear was created in loving memory of my sister, Tarra.

To those who knew her best, she was lovingly called Tia Bea, or just Tia. She had a deep love for teddy bears—she collected them, cherished them, and found comfort in them. They weren’t just decorations or toys to her; they were symbols of warmth, safety, and joy.

In the late 1990s, the very first username she chose was Tia_Bear… (For AIM I believe 😂). It was simple, sweet, and perfectly her. Years later, after losing her to lupus, that name stayed with me. It felt like a piece of her that never left.

That is how Tia Bear was born.

Every detail of this bear was designed with intention and love—from the purple color representing lupus awareness, to the embroidered ribbons and her name stitched in a handwritten style. This bear isn’t just a keepsake; it is a reflection of who she was and the comfort she brought to others.

With every Tia Bear sold, a portion of proceeds is donated to lupus research and organizations dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by this disease. In this way, her legacy continues—not only in memory, but in action.
