About Tia Bear πŸ’œ

A Story of Love, Loss, and Light

Tia Bear was created in memory of a woman who changed lives with her kindness, strength, and compassion.

On August 19, 2014, we lost Tarra (Tia) to lupus.
Though many years have passed, the love she left behind still feels close β€” and the pain of losing her is something that never truly fades.

Tia Bear exists to turn that love into something tangible.

This isn’t just a plush toy.
It is a symbol of remembrance.
A source of comfort.
And a way to bring awareness to a disease that affects millions yet remains widely misunderstood.

Why Lupus?

Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease that can attack any part of the body.
It has no cure, is difficult to diagnose, and often goes unseen.

Tia lived with lupus.
She faced it with grace, courage, and quiet strength.

Through Tia Bear, we honor her journey and stand with every person and family affected by lupus.

Each bear is a reminder that no one walks this path alone.

Our Mission

Tia Bear exists to:

  • Provide comfort to those experiencing grief, illness, or hardship

  • Raise awareness about lupus and chronic illness

  • Honor loved ones whose light still lives on

  • Build a community rooted in compassion and hope

Every Tia Bear is created with intention β€” from its signature purple color to the awareness ribbons on its paws.

More Than a Bear

Tia Bear represents:

  • The love that never leaves

  • The strength to keep going

  • The memory that deserves to be honored

  • The hope that grows when we stand together

When you hold a Tia Bear, you hold a story β€” not just ours, but yours too.

Thank You for Being Here
